Constantly striving to reduce impacts
Kings Laundry, now part of Elis, takes its environmental impact seriously and seeks always to minimise the impact on the environment from our operations.
Within our laundries in particular we have made significant financial investment to reduce the amount of energy we use, and to recycle water and heat to reduce our impact.
We recycle material wherever possible, and while recognising that some products need to be disposable for infection control or practical reasons, we nevertheless place our emphasis on products which can be re-used.
In particular, cotton, a major raw material for many of our products, is a sustainable and renewable resource, which is recycled at the end of its life rather than being sent to landfill.
Reduction of excess packaging is a virtuous circle which benefits both the customer and ourselves, and we continue to seek ways of limiting the amount of waste we generate both at our own sites and those of our customers.
